As a believer in reducing excessive waste and the damage to our planet, it's important we all take responsibility to play our part, and as such I am always open to new ideas. The following is a sample of how I am implementing this in these areas.
Art Frames and Canvas
Reuse, Recycle, Repurpose
When possible use reclaimed materials, that would have been thrown in the skip, which can then be repurposed to make painting frames.

Just as the Ancient Egyptians would recycle their fabric to wrap their mummies, I will be creating canvases and plaster artwork pieces based on this method. Keep an eye on my Gallery for future work.
PAINTS
Reduce, Reuse
So as not to be wasteful, I endeavour to estimate how much paint I am going to need. Leftover paint is applied to a sheet of paper, which then is used to create collage. Contents in containers and tubes will be used up, and recycled responsibly.

To keep from drying out and extend the life of my paints, I can do this by placing a damp cloth or sponge in a container with the paint, put a lid on and then into the fridge. As long as the cloth or sponge is damp, the paint can last for weeks. For liquid paint it is syphoned into a smaller container.
PACKAGINg
Reduce, Reuse, Recyle
Reusing packaging for storing and posting artwork is a must, when supplies are available, which would include: cardboard boxes and envelopes; bubble wrap and bags; even foam sheets that occasionally find it's way to me.
RECYCLE
Recycle, Repair, Reduce,
Reuse, Repurpose
I would prefer to pass on items to someone else, so that they can make use of what I have. if not needed, rather than bin it. With a skill in sewing and a curiosity of how things work, I have a go at repairing or repurposing rather than throwing.

A supporter of my local Facebook RRR community, where we can offer items for free, that we don't have a use for, or shout out for something we are in need of, thereby reducing waste and costs.
RENEWABLE CLEAN ENERGY
Renew, Reduce, Repurpose
An advocate for our country to be reliant on producing its own energy through environmentally friendly natural means, of solar, wind and wave energy harvesting. I would like to see more homes and businesses fitted with solar panels, to reduce cost and use clean power.

We are fortunate to have our own solar panels fitted to our home, and now have and electric car, which is charged using the solar panels.
PRINT ON DEMAND
Reduce,
To reduce the unwanted surplus of manufacturing and storage of products, I have taken the route of 'Print on Demand'. This system means, that items are only produced on request by the customer, which results in no excess of unsold items ending up in landfill, or waste of finances which would be passed on to the customer.
